Vavra's Made in Italy was founded in 2001 by owner Ge'Lena Vavra (pronounced: JEE-lena VAH-VRAH). Ge'Lena began working in television advertising and marketing. She eventually opened her own advertising agency, The Culver Agency, in 1989 and she created Nellis Air Force Base Cable Advertising in 1994. Ge'Lena has always had a passion for fashion and loves to bargain shop for quality merchandise. After realizing that retail pricing is excessive, she concluded that it would be fair to offer consumers the lowest possible price without "gimmicky" sales “. Where’s the bargain if merchandise has been marked up 9 times and then reduced with a 50% off sale?, Ge’Lena notes.  "We list 'Retail' pricing on our Web site since we actually see the same products sold at these prices by boutiques.", she added.   Therefore, she determined that the goals of Vavra's Made In Italy would be two-fold: 1) To offer the highest quality clothing at the fairest possible price, and 2) To provide highly personalized, superior customer service that would make the customer feel as though they were shopping at a boutique from the comfort of their own home “Everyone works hard for their money and deserves value.”, says Ge’Lena.
